MOD SHOW 2021은 국립공주대학교 예술대학 만화애니메이션학과 재학생 및 졸업생으로 구성된 실험 애니메이션 그룹 MOD의 전시이다. MOD는 2010년부터 프로젝트 활동을 시작하였으며, 2013년 닥터스트레인지러브 갤러리에서 열린 단체전을 계기로 MOD SHOW라는 이름 아래 다양한 실험적 작업들을 이어오고 있다.

MOD SHOW는 “멈추면 죽는다”는 각오로 애니메이션의 기술과 문법을 기반으로 한 독자적인 작업을 지속해 왔다. 작품을 멈춘다는 것은 곧 작가의 존재가 멈추는 것과 다름없다는 절박함 속에서, MOD의 작가들은 끊임없이 움직이고 실험하며 자신만의 형식을 모색해왔다.

MOD SHOW 2021은 연희동에 위치한 아트터테인(ARTERTAIN)에서 2021년 11월 5일부터 11월 20일까지 개최되었으며, 강주형, 김가영, 김준, 김지원, 김형수, 김홍수, 이가연, 이승훈, 홍가람 작가가 참여하여 각자의 감각과 시선을 담은 다양한 애니메이션 기반 작품들을 선보였다.

MOD SHOW 2021 is an exhibition by MOD, an experimental animation collective composed of current students and alumni from the Department of Comics and Animation at Kongju National University, College of Arts. MOD began its collaborative projects in 2010 and officially adopted the name MOD SHOW following a group exhibition held in 2013 at the Dr. Strangelove Gallery.

With the motto "Stop and you die," MOD SHOW represents a creative urgency—a declaration that to cease creating is, in essence, to cease existing. Rooted in animation techniques and principles, MOD SHOW continues to explore diverse and original expressions through relentless experimentation and motion.

MOD SHOW 2021 was held at ARTERTAIN in Yeonhui-dong from November 5 to 20, 2021. Participating artists—Juhyung Kang, Gayoung Kim, Jun Kim, Jiwon Kim, Hyeongsoo Kim, Hongsoo Kim, Gayoun Lee, Seunghoon Lee, and Garam Hong—presented a wide array of animation-based works, each reflecting their own distinct sensibilities and perspectives.
