여러 사람이 모여 다양한 경기를 펼치는 ‘운동회’는 움직임을 중심으로 한 활동의 장이다. 이 전시는 그러한 움직임을 디지털 회화 위에서 실험하고자 한다. 컴퓨터라는 붓을 통해 만들어진 움직이는 형상들은 모니터 위에서 떨리고 흔들리며 작동하고, 그 자체로 감각적 운동성을 발현한다.

작가들은 디지털 장치를 통해 움직이는 형상들을 풀어놓고, 이를 감각의 장소로 변환시킨다. 운동은 이곳에서 단순한 행위가 아니라, 이미지와 형상의 진동, 반복, 리듬으로 작동하는 감각의 사건이 된다. 팬데믹 시기 동안 제한되었던 신체 활동에 대한 갈망은, 이 전시에서 시각적 감각을 통해 다시 작동하며 운동의 가능성을 열어 보인다. 관람자는 모니터를 바라보며 '눈으로 운동하는' 감각을 경험하게 된다.

이번 전시는 움직임을 회화의 요소로 삼고, 움직이는 형상들이 감각적으로 감지될 수 있는 조건을 탐구한다. 운동회는 감각을 기반으로 새로운 이미지가 생성되는 현장이다.

A “Field Day” is typically a site of collective physical movement and activity. This exhibition translates that notion of movement into the realm of digital painting, using computers as brushes to generate forms that pulse and sway across monitor screens. These moving images activate a sense of visual motion, forming events of vibration and rhythm rather than narrative gestures.

The artists scatter moving forms across digital devices, turning the screen into a perceptual site. Here, movement operates not as symbolic expression but as a sensory process—unfolding through oscillation, repetition, and difference. In the wake of the pandemic, when physical activity was largely suspended, this exhibition reopens the potential for movement through visual sensation. Viewers are invited to experience a kind of “eye-body workout” through engagement with the screen.

This “Field Day” becomes a space where movement itself becomes pictorial, and where painting expands through the dynamics of motion and material perception.
