Kim Hyeong Soo 김형수

<행수와 페니>는 511호 팀의 두 작가, 행수(Hangsoo)와 페니(Peni)의 페르소나 캐릭터를 중심으로 구성된 디지털 아트 2인전이다. 전시는 디지털 스크린과 브라운관 모니터, 빔 프로젝터 등 다양한 장비 위에서 두 캐릭터가 벌이는 유쾌한 디지털 난동을 통해 전개된다.

본 전시는 한국 SF 액션 애니메이션 영화 『아치와 씨팍』에서 모티프를 얻어, 의도치 않게 도시를 혼란에 빠뜨리고 다시 구하게 되는 아이러니한 서사를 차용한다. ‘행수’는 화려하고 강렬한 색채로, ‘페니’는 대비되는 흑백의 무드로 표현되며, 두 캐릭터의 상반된 시각 언어는 서로의 존재를 강조하고, 때론 충돌하며 이야기의 흐름을 만들어낸다.

이 전시는 단순한 캐릭터 쇼케이스가 아닌, 디지털 이미지가 만들어낼 수 있는 유희와 움직임, 그리고 감각적 충돌에 대한 실험이다. 관람객은 화면 위를 가로지르는 행수와 페니의 엉뚱하고 장난기 어린 행동을 따라가며, 디지털 세계에서 펼쳐지는 또 다른 감각의 모험을 경험하게 된다.

Hangsoo and Peni is a two-person digital art exhibition featuring the persona characters of artists Hangsoo and Peni, members of the 511ho team. Through CRT monitors, digital displays, and beam projectors, the exhibition unfolds as a playful digital riot led by these two vivid characters.

Drawing inspiration from the Korean sci-fi action animation Aachi and Ssipak, the show borrows the chaotic energy and ironic storyline where unlikely heroes accidentally plunge a city into chaos—only to save it again. Hangsoo bursts with saturated, expressive colors, while Peni exists in a monochrome world. Their contrasting visual languages emphasize and clash with one another, creating moments of narrative tension and delight.

This exhibition is more than a character showcase—it is an exploration of digital image play, motion, and sensory collision. As visitors follow Hangsoo and Peni’s whimsical antics across the screen, they’re invited into a visually chaotic yet rhythmically charged world, where absurdity, movement, and imagination converge—one flickering frame at a time.
