군중

군중은 실험적인 접근을 통해 기존 작업과는 확연히 다른 흐름을 만들어낸 작품이다. 돌발적 요소와 우연성을 가로지르며, 그 안에서 구체적인 형상을 건져 올리는 과정이 핵심이었다. 단지 추상적인 단계에 머무르지 않기 위해, 강렬한 움직임과 리듬 속에서 형상을 포착하려 했다.

특히, 이번 작업에서는 마치 잭슨 폴록처럼 화면을 뒤덮어버리고 싶은 충동을 실험해 보았다. 그러나 그 과정에서도 인물 형태를 닮은 덩어리들의 움직임과 리듬에 집중하며 작업했던 기억이 생생하다.

최근 군중의 수정을 거치며, 처음의 시도에 대한 만족감을 유지하면서도 일부 구체적인 형상의 필요성을 느꼈다. 초보적인 방법일 수도 있지만, 시각적으로 명확하게 주목할 수 있는 방식을 선택했다고 생각한다. 군중은 ‘눈으로 만지듯이’ 감각적으로 볼 수 있으며, 화면 전체의 리듬을 한순간에 받아들이는 경험 또한 제공한다. 직관과 탐색이 동시에 요구되는, 흥미로운 지점이 살아 있는 작품이라 생각한다.

The Crowd

The Crowd is a work that, through an experimental approach, has created a distinct flow different from previous pieces. The core of the process was navigating through unpredictable elements and randomness to extract concrete forms from within. To avoid remaining solely in an abstract stage, the goal was to capture forms amidst intense movement and rhythm.

In this piece, I particularly explored the impulse to completely cover the canvas, much like Jackson Pollock. However, even in that process, I vividly remember focusing on the movement and rhythm of mass-like shapes resembling human figures.

Through recent revisions, I have maintained satisfaction with the initial attempt while also recognizing the necessity of incorporating more concrete forms. Though it may be a rudimentary approach, I believe I have chosen a method that allows for clear visual focus. The Crowd can be perceived "as if touched with the eyes," offering both a sensory experience and an immediate reception of the rhythm across the entire composition. It is a work that thrives on the coexistence of intuition and exploration, making for an engaging and dynamic viewing experience.
