구하우스 미술관에서 진행되는 "픽셀그라운드"전시는 현대 미디어아트의 다양성과 깊이를 탐구하는 여정이다. 픽셀로 구성되어 있는 미디어아트를 즐기는 "플레이그라운드"라는 뜻으로 감상자의 놀이터가 되길 희망한다.

구하우스 미디어 전시기획 "픽셀그라운드"의 방향성은 현대 미디어아트의 5가지 키워드 즉, 인터렉티브 경험, 융합과 다원성, 공공성과 접근성, 지속 가능성, 미래지향적 탐구 등의 다양한 요소를 포함하며, 관람객에게 새로운 경험을 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다.

이번 전시는 구하우스의 픽셀그라운드 첫 번째 프로젝트로 9명의 미디어 아티스트 김한샘, 김형수, 노상호, 돈선필, 박지나, 심래정, 신지선, 전병삼, 추미림의 작품을 선보인다.

각 작품은 비디오게임 형식, 디지털과 아날로그 사이의 하이브리드, 오타쿠 피규어의 재해석, 박물관의 전신인 분더캄머(Wunderkammer)로 부터 이미지를 수집하는 소재 등을 차용하여 스토리 텔링과 미디어 아트의 경계를 확장하여 다양성을 경험해 보게 하고자 한다.

Pixel Ground, presented at GOOHOUSE Museum, is an exhibition that explores the diversity and depth of contemporary media art. Combining the idea of media art built from pixels with that of a “playground,” the exhibition aspires to become a space of play and discovery for its viewers.

The curatorial direction of Pixel Ground is shaped by five key themes in contemporary media art: interactive experience, convergence and plurality, publicity and accessibility, sustainability, and future-oriented inquiry. Through these elements, the exhibition aims to offer audiences new ways of experiencing media art.

As the first project in GOOHOUSE’s Pixel Ground media exhibition series, this exhibition features works by nine media artists: Kim Hansem, Kim Hyeongsoo, Noh Sangho, Don Sunpil, Park Jina, Sim Raejeong, Shin Jiseon, Jeon Byeongsam, and Choo Mirim.

Drawing on such elements as video game formats, hybrids between the digital and the analog, reinterpretations of otaku figures, and image-collecting motifs inspired by the Wunderkammer—the precursor to the modern museum—each work expands the boundaries between storytelling and media art, inviting viewers to experience a wide spectrum of artistic diversity.
